Medical Board Rules

2. Licensure by Reciprocity

A. In addition to the requirements of Section 3275, the Board at its discretion may require that the candidate present himself for interview and/or examination at regular meeting of the Board or, in lieu thereof, for interview and/or examination by two active members of the Board.

B. A reciprocal agreement between the Medical Council of New Brunswick and this Board has been established as follows:

1. The State of Maine Board of Registration in Medicine reciprocally offers to graduates of Canadian or American Medical Schools who are licensed in New Brunswick, licensure in the State of Maine, provided that the applicant's New Brunswick license is in good standing and that no charges are pending against him.

C. Applications for licensure by endorsement must be received at the Board office at least forty-five (45) days before an applicant may expect to be issued a certificate enabling him to practice medicine in the State of Maine.
