
15. PA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Board shall appoint a Physician Assistant Advisory Committee (the Advisory Committee) comprises of such persons as it deems appropriate, but the Advisory Committee shall include at least two physicians and two physician assistants licensed by the Board . The Board may also appoint such Board members and its Executive Director to the Advisory Committee, as it deems appropriate.
The duties of the Advisory Committee shall be to review all matters pertaining to physician assistants and the supervision of physician assistants which the Board asks the Advisory Committee to consider. The Advisory Committee may render to the Board recommendations for action. The Advisory Committee may also consider matters upon its own motion.
Members of the Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Board for terms of four years. A member may be appointed by the Board for a second, and final, four-year term. If a member is appointed to complete a term created by the premature departure of another member, the appointed member may still serve two full terms. The Board may, in its discretion, remove any member from the Advisory Committee.
The Chair of the Advisory Committee shall not be a regular member of the Board of Registration in Medicine and shall be elected by a vote of the members of the Advisory Committee. The Chair shall serve for a term Of two years.
The Advisory Committee shall meet at the call of the Chair of the Board or the Chair of the Advisory Committee, but shall meet at least quarterly.
