
1. Criteria for Determining Whether an Accrediting Body is an Equivalent of the Accrediting Bodies Specifically Enumerated in SECTION 3271(2).
a. The Board may consider objective and subjective criteria in evaluating the accrediting body.
b. The Board may consider the following:
(A) membership of the accrediting body in evaluation of medical residency programs;
(B) length of existence of accrediting body;
(C) number of programs accredited;
(D) factors used by the accrediting body in evaluating medical residency programs;
(E) comparison to ACGME criteria for similar residency programs.
c. The Board may consider such other aspects of the application as bear upon whether the accrediting body is equivalent of ACGME, the Canadian Medical Association, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
